Sonia Gavrilova

Sonia Gavrilova’s path to physiotherapy began with a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia, followed by two years working as a Registered Kinesiologist. During this time, she gained extensive experience in detailed exercise prescription for patients with sports injuries, motor vehicle injuries, workplace injuries, chronic pain, and those pursuing personal training. She also earned her Soft Tissue Release Level I certification and worked as a Return-to-Work Support Service Provider, assessing job demands and developing safe, tailored strategies to help clients return to work after injury.

Sonia’s approach to physiotherapy is deeply rooted in her belief that movement is one of the most powerful tools for expression, growth, and healing. She views every patient as unique, with their own story, challenges, and goals. Whether she is working with someone recovering from injury, helping someone manage chronic pain, or supporting someone in returning to high-performance sport, Sonia emphasizes collaboration, open communication, and education. Her diverse clinical experience ranges from the Intensive Care Unit and home care to specialized neurological rehabilitation in multiple sclerosis. Most recently, she spent six weeks training under mentorship and working extensively with high-performance and CrossFit athletes, helping them return safely to competition. Her treatments combine manual therapy, individualized exercise prescription, and patient education, but what makes Sonia’s practice unique is her ability to integrate creativity and adaptability into every plan. Growing up on the West Coast, she developed a lifelong love for movement through competitive dance, weightlifting, snowboarding, surfing, and hiking. This personal connection to movement drives her passion to help others discover strength, resilience, and confidence in their own bodies.
Outside of the clinic, Sonia enjoys exploring Toronto’s food and arts scene, going to Pilates classes, and finding new ways to stay active. She thrives on continuous growth and is always eager to learn from her patients, colleagues, and the communities she serves.Special Interests: Sports injuries, womens’ health, return-to-sport rehabilitation, CrossFit, lower body injuries, shoulder injuries
