Shawal Kana

Originally from Nairobi, Kenya, Shawal completed an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at McMaster University and recently graduated with a Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto. His journey into physiotherapy was sparked by a personal experience as a young athlete. Representing Kenya U19 in the Cricket World Cup qualifiers, he sustained a fractured elbow, which introduced him to the transformative care of physiotherapists. This pivotal moment fueled his passion to help others recover, move, and thrive.

As an assistant physiotherapist for the Brampton Wolves during the 2023 GT20 Cricket Tournament, Shawal had the privilege of working with world-class international cricketers. His background combines high-level athletic rehab with a broad spectrum of clinical placements, including stroke rehabilitation, general recovery, and private practice settings. This well-rounded experience enables him to cater to athletes, weekend warriors, and anyone looking to improve their physical and emotional health.

Shawal is known for his dedication to each patient. He tailors every session to the individual’s goals, providing a balance of education, hands-on therapy, and functional exercise. With a deep understanding of how injuries impact both the body and mind, he creates a supportive environment where patients feel heard and empowered to achieve their best results.

When he’s not in the clinic, Shawal enjoys playing competitive cricket, staying active, and exploring new ways to optimize physical health. Whether recovering from an injury or striving to enhance performance, patients trust Shawal for his expertise, compassion, and unwavering commitment to their success.
